In this work, I am channeling energy from the place inside my body that holds the weight of specific intergenerational memories. Entangled in the complex histories of betrayal, solidarity, revolution, flight, harm, and self-denial, the spirit-body is a political-historical site unto itself that bears the palimpsest of the past. In this work, I am calling into view this feeling of burning, luminance, heat, anger, nausea, vibrancy that palpitates beneath the surface of all the work I have been creating in the past few years. This work is a prayer. This work is a meditation with and upon the heaviness of a generational debt.
